OVERVIEW

Since nearly every ride consists of a variety of terrain, the Black Inc THIRTY carbon wheelset offers the type of lightweight performance that makes them a dream when climbing, while providing enough aero advantage to cheat the wind. The level of durability exceeds the common road wheel, making the Black Inc THIRTY strong enough for gravel riding and racing as well.

Available in disc brake and rim brake options, the Black Inc THIRTY clincher rims are tubeless ready and ideal for riders who gravitate towards mixed-terrain routes. A tubular option also exists in rim and disc brake configurations, and are used by our sponsored professionals as well as anyone who fancies keeping the wheel weight as low as possible. Crafted from a blend of ultra-high strength carbon fiber, the carbon layup for each rim has been optimised to maximize the strength to weight ratio.

With an internal rim width of 21mm and an external of 30mm, the THIRTY rims pair perfectly with 28mm or wider tires. The flush interface between tire and rim improves the aerodynamic performance while running the wider tubeless tires increases comfort and cornering capability. In fact, we recommend running nothing smaller than a 25mm tire with these rims. For the rim brake option, a proprietary textured brake track combined with Black Inc’s essential braking pads enhances braking performance in both dry and wet conditions.

The THIRTY wheelset features a proprietary CNC machined alloy hub shell with low-friction CeramicSpeed bearings in both the rim and disc brake options. This advanced design with the oversized hub axle allows the wheels to feel like they will spin forever, while the engagement when starting from a standstill at a stop light, or attacking from the front of the pack will ensure no loss of power or momentum. The THIRTY are available with Shimano, XDR and Campagnolo freehub body. The straight-pull rim and disc hubsets work easily with the SAPIM CX-SPRINT and CX-RAY Aero Butted straight pull spokes. To keep the weight as low as possible, the clincher versions use internal alloy nipples while the tubulars have external alloy nipples for ease of maintenance.
